My fiance went to the doctor thinking he had acne on his scalp. But it turns out it is some sort of bacteria irritating his skin. Is there a special brand of shampoo he can use? Right now he is using Paul Mitchell Tea-Tree shampoo and conditioner that I bought him but it's not working (he's been using it for over 4 months). Is there a such thing as anti-bacterial shampoo?
Zinc pyrithione is capable of killing both bacteria and yeast. It is available as a shampoo such as Neutrogena T/Gel or as a liquid that may be applied twice a day if daily washing is not convenient.
I have also heard of Carmol Deep Cleansing Antibacterial Shampoo which has added urea, a potent humectant, to treat flakiness and bacteria build ups.
Hope this info helps! Is there a such thing as anti-bacterial shampoo?
I dont know if there is an antibacterial shampoo, but...the ingredient added to soaps/hand sanitizers is isopropyl alcohol. If you added this to your shampoo, wouldnt it make it antibacterial as well? you can buy it at any drug store (but not rubbing alcohol. that is ethyl alcohol, not as good at killing bacteria)
not sure... but it might damage your hair, since it must be really strong
