Is there any alternative to anti-dandruff shampoo?

argh it's drving me mad! none of the shampoos work, is there any other remedy or something????Is there any alternative to anti-dandruff shampoo?
If Vosene doesn't work, it's a doctor's job ! ! !Is there any alternative to anti-dandruff shampoo?
Dandruff shampoo?
You can shave your head if you are willing.
You should try crushing an asprin into your favourite normal shampoo, I do it when I run out of head and shoulders (which incidently I find works brilliantly) and it works well.

Failing that you could try T-Gel, which is strong but works.
Try T/gel its a brown shampoo with coal tar extract, basically a strong anti dandruff.
equal parts of witch hazel and mouthwash mixed together. yes this has worked for me in the past. i work in a pharmacy and heard about it there. Shampoo as normal then apply the mixture, leave for one minute then rinse. this should work for you.
go get a ';pert plus fresh'; nothing beats it. then scrub hard and you will see a difference.
there is a product by Aveda. its called Scalp Remedy. it runs @ $11 bucks a bottle. sounds a bit expensive, but it does last a long time. i use it after a shower. i part my hair, apply to scalp, rub in. then i part another section of hair and repeat. repeat this until your scalp has been covered. usually, i only have to use it consecutively for a few days. then the problem goes away for weeks! then you use it again. you can find it at any salon/location that sells Aveda products. its amazing.
a sampoo named fongitar. which would be available in near chemist shop.pls give me 10pts!!!!!!!
Baldness seems to work pretty well!
Here is a home remedy that helped cure my best guy freind's dandruff: boil four heaped tablespoons of dried thyme in half a litre of water (just under a pint) for 10 minutes. Let it cool and strain it through a sieve into a jar. Massage some of the liquid onto your scalp three times a week. Do not rinse it out.

also, if you want to continue shampooing, look for tea tree oil, because shampoos with this ingrident noticabley help reduce the dandruff by 41 percent. You could also start by trying a shampoo containing selenium sulfide, which has an anti-yeast effect. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3鈥? minutes before rinsing off. Don't use selenium sulfide within 48 hours of applying a hair colorant or a perm lotion. Some shampoos contain zinc pyrithione, another anti-yeast chemical.

The most effective treatment is an anti-yeast shampoo containing ketoconazole, which you can buy from a chemist without a doctor鈥檚 prescription. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3鈥? minutes before rinsing off. Use it twice a week for 2鈥? weeks to clear the dandruff, and then once every 2 weeks, using a normal shampoo in between times.

Antidandruff conditioners are also available.

dandruff really is a pain, and i hope this helps yours.
hiya okay this may sound a bit sad but you can buy this special hair oil i buuy mine from london and its called vatika hair oil i suppose theres a hole load of oils out there and what you do is leave it in your hair 4 a day i think teh way it works is that your scalp is proberly dry ofr hasnt got nutrients or something so if you put this in and tie your hair upp it will proberbly absorb it extremely fast anyways yeah it may be a bit of trouble washing it out but i find the easist way to get it out is to leave conditioner in my hair for like 3 minutes, this works best for me i ahve excema and it affects my head aswell this works best hope this helps
if you really have a problem that ordinary anti-dandruff shampoos don't shift maybe you should try seeing a dermatologist. You could also try coal-tar shampoo, but use sparingly and not too frequently.
I have heard that adding beer to your regular shampoo makes your hair look shiny and dandruff-free. I found the following procedure on the Internet some days ago so that the beer will really do the trick (and not dry your hair in the process):

SHAMPOO HAIR

Not only is beer the remedy for a dull party, it's also the cure for dull hair. Dump a cup into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Let it reduce until there's 1/4 cup left. This removes the alcohol, which can dry hair. Let the beer cool, then mix it with a cup of your favourite shampoo. Pour it into an empty shampoo bottle, then wash and rinse as usual. It'll give your hair more shine and luster.
