Why does anti-dandruff shampoos cause dandruff?

I'm am starting to go bald and people have recommended using Nizoral to help with the hair loss. I don't have dandruff, but after using the stuff I notice that I have flakes in my hair. Why does anti-dandruff shampoos cause dandruff?
Those shampoos have chemicals that dry your scalp out, thats why you have flakes. If you have dandruff, use a shampoo with lots of conditioner and don't shampoo too often, unless your hair is oily, twice a week in winter and also in summer unless it gets oily sooner. You can use baby oil and rub it into your scalp then use a hot towel over your hair, leave it on for 20 min. then shampoo and condition your hair. Once a week I use a cup of mayo with 1/4 cup of olive oil, work into hair and put on a shower cap for 30 min. It makes your hair shine and very manageable, along with conditioning your scalp. If you have excessive dryness use it twice a week. Good luck and God Bless, ElleWhy does anti-dandruff shampoos cause dandruff?

Has anyone used sunsilk shampoo/conditioner and/or john freida anti-frizz serum?

what do you think of these products? what was the outcome of using them, were you pleased with the results?Has anyone used sunsilk shampoo/conditioner and/or john freida anti-frizz serum?
I have used both. I really like the Sunsilk. I tried three formulas from this brand and enjoyed them both.

I also used the John Frieda anti-frizz serum. I didn't like the results but I do know friends who love, love, love it!Has anyone used sunsilk shampoo/conditioner and/or john freida anti-frizz serum?
SunSilk, yes. They have many different kinds though. I've used every kind except the Volumizing one. They work very well. If you use the SunSilk TLC though, and your hair gets oily easily, it will make it worse, but if you have dry-ish hair, it will work really good. The curling and the Straightening one work well for just being a shampoo and Conditioner.
i've used both.

i've used sunsilk's hydra tlc and it sucked, i think my hair actually felt dryer after using it.

john freida makes really good ant-frizz serum, it's excellent for when you blow dry and straighten. it's not the best serum i've tried(paul mitchell hands down) but it is descent.
I used both. They both work pretty good but you should continuously use them for a better result. You hair actually becomes more silky.

Good anti-frizz cream or shampoo?

Does anyone know of a good anti-frizz cream or shampoo? Im looking for one that I can put in my hair after I wash it and while it is still wet. I wash my hair at night and then sleep on it so its frizzy in the morning. (don't have time to wash it in the morning). Thanks!Good anti-frizz cream or shampoo?
I used to have the same problem!

Umm, I would recommend Garnier Fructis Sleek 'n Shine shampoo, cream conditioner, and styling products. I have fine hair so I only use the conditioner, and it makes your hair so soft. Also dry it with a hair dryer but use a thermal protectant, such as Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum.

Can I use baby shampoo as anti-fog agent for my glasses inside my ski goggle (to avoid fogging up)?

I am going to ski soon, and I have got a normal ski goggle. Unfortuantey, I can't wear contact lenses at the moment.

So I have to wear my glasses inside the ski goggle but my glasses would be fogged up inside the goggle easily.

I heard a rumour that either liquid mild soap or baby shampoo (Johnson %26amp; Johnson) is excellent anti-fog drops/agent for my glasses?

If that is true - please provide me instruction how to do those?

There are anti-fog wipes that are widely available in sports equipment stores and resorts. These are more effective than other home remedies.

By the way do not peel off the small ';dot'; on the front of your goggles or you will horrendous problems with fogging. Can I use baby shampoo as anti-fog agent for my glasses inside my ski goggle (to avoid fogging up)?
Go spend a few bucks on some anti-fog wipes. They'll work far far better than any DIY method you find. They're usually under $10 and will last you a long time.
I wear glasses under my goggles as well, but prefer to use anti-fog wipes on my goggles ONLY.

Wipes convert vision impairing fog to clear condensation, which goes away quickly on goggles, but makes my glasses wet and distorts my vision. My thick gloves and wool clothing aren't well suited for drying wet glasses.

Instead of wiping my goggles and glasses, I wipe the goggles and then just and lift my goggles every 10 minutes to defog the glasses. Works perfectly.

if the coal tar and head n' shoulders aren't working for you, you should visit a dermatologist and get an accurate diagnosis. Sometimes it won't matter the shampoo you use if it doesn't contain the right ingredient. I have an overactive scalp and I use a special foam on my scalp, but can use all my favorite shampoos.
Beat an egg in a cup of milk. When it foams, rub it into the scalp.Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.Carry out this routine twice a week for excellent results for dry damaged hair. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    Is anti-flea solution also shampoo-proof?

I know those monthly treatments are waterproof, but do they still have effect after i take my puppy a shower with shampoo? I can't either shower him once a month or apply flea treatment once a week! Thank you!Is anti-flea solution also shampoo-proof?
As long as you wait 48 hours after applying the flea treatment, then bathing your dog will not wash it off.Is anti-flea solution also shampoo-proof?
You can bathe them with the treatment on as long as you use a pet shampoo that does NOT contain soap or detergent. Since soap strips the oils from the skin/coat, it will remove the treatment but most pet shampoos do not have soap as a base instead have coconut base. You just have to read label %26amp; buy quality - not the cheap crap.
I never use that poison on my dogs, and have never had a problem. I never will use anti flea poison on them. I have owned five dogs over the period of 20 years, and have only found two ticks.

Yes, Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby baths works as it forms a layer over your goggles so it can't fog. In fact, it is a cheaper alternative than anti-fog goggles. The only downide is if you add too much shampoo, the shampoo will slowly flow down and gather at the bottom of the goggles, which can be irritating.

Just make sure that the shampoo that you use does not stink your eyes or is allergic to you.Can I use baby shampoo as anti-fog agent for my glasses inside my ski goggle (to avoid fogging up)?
I'm not sure about soap or baby shampoo, but I've heard Saliva works.

Do anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?

Some of them do yes. Also leaving a hat off helps, taking vitamins for the hair and nails works also... but the best shampoo is the Horse hair tail and mane for your hair and can be brought at Wal-Mart for about 6.00 or a little more or less depending on were you live. Also get the conditioner for it makes the hair strong and helps it grow back. A lot of hair loss is due to stress and weakness of the hair. You will notice a difference in about 3 weeks for I know for my hair started coming out due to so many surgeries and using this shampoo really did the trick. So check with your Dr. if your under a lot of stress, and if you have a lot of bald people in your family, it just may be inherited. Oh another thing, go to Sally's beauty supplies and ask them what they have if you or not happy with this idea, they have everything you can think of and I know that someone there can help you.. So happy hair growing back, My hair is full now and I can wear it anyway I want to. For when I get it cut, no one has to do anything to it but blow dry it and it stays in the style I had it cut in.... my hair dressers love it.. AnnDo anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?
not really. it will work if follow by special treatment. after using anti hair loss shampoo, use conditioner or tonic.

and 1/2 in a week using hair mask or creambath..

i live in indonesia, so i cant recommend the brand.. but im using sunsilk anti dandruff and sunsilk intensive treatment for hair fall, everyday.

also makarizo advisor hair repair.. i use it 3x in a week..

    and it works for me.

goodluck.Do anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?
The normal cycle of hair growth lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

Medicines may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness. One medicine, minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription. It is applied to the scalp. Both men and women can use it. Another medicine, finasteride (brand name: Propecia) is available with a prescription. It comes in pills and is only for men. It may take up to 6 months before you can tell if one of these medicines is working.

It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

okay thinning hair and baldness is a genetic issue. You have hormones that don't prodce enough which leads to that. sometimes the shampoo works and sometimes they don't. it really depends on what is causing your hair issue. I would seek a dermatologiest.

I am a cosmetologest and have lots of people with this question. you have to be very careful with those stupid ads. if you are bald or have thinning hair they are noy going to make your hair appear full and lustful over night. usually its a topical cream that comes with it and you are supposed to rub it in. No if that stuff really worked i wouldn't be cutting comb overs as much as i do.

I know this is imformation overlaod. i do have good new there is something call nixon with works great to help prevent thinning and baldness. I would also take a multivinam too. your body produces 11 of of 21 viatinm your hair needs. so over time your body can't produce so your folica

    becomes weak.
depends what kind of hair loss you are having

will help hair loss in the back but not front
yea..some..cuz my mom's friend uses em....but apparently they damage ur hair..but if ur loosing hair..i dont think i matters that much! But..YES..they work.

    Anti Dandruff Control Shampoo help?

    hi

is it best to get herbal anti Dandruff ShampooAnti Dandruff Control Shampoo help?
    Hi LewisBoomBox

Look closely at the causes of dandruff below. The blood has toxins and you need to do some cleanses (colon and liver). This will assist your internal organs to rid of the toxins and clear up your blood for long term health.

    Cause

It is frequently due to digestive disturbances, and is highly related to the general health of the entire body.

The most common cause of dandruff is seborrheic dermatitis, a mild scalp inflammation with excessive fatty secretions that usually starts as dry or greasy scaling of the skin, but may progress to yellow-red scaling bumps along the hairline, behind the ears, in the ear canals, on the eyebrows, on the bridge of the nose, in the folds around the nose, or on the breastbone. Don`t pick or your scratch scalp, as this will only exacerbate your condition.

When infants get dandruff, it is called cradle cap, which is a yeast problem. Many skin experts in Europe consider dandruff in adults to also be a yeast problem. In other words, dandruff is often an external symptom of an internal problem. Therefore, dandruff treatments can be similar to those for treating candidiasis.

All dandruff is caused by a fungus (yeast) which everyone in the world has called Pityrosporum, it just shows up on some people and not others.

Zinc-based remedies such as Head and Shoulders are only a temporary fix. What you need is an anti fungal shampoo that contains ketoconazale, the only known (safe) means of killing the fungus.

Such a shampoo is Nizoral, obtainable from good chemists and costs about 拢5 for a 3 month treatment course. It can be used in conjunction with you normal shampoo.

After 20 years of dandruff Head and Shoulders stopped working but Nizoral cleared it up very quickly and I am now dandruff-free

Hello! I am a hairdresser and deal with dandruff problems all of the time. First of all, are you positive it is dandruff? A lot of people get confused between dandruff and dry skin. This time of year dry skin is very common. The way you can tell is to check the flakes, are they waxy looking or are they pretty light and airy? Dandruff will be the waxy looking flake. The best dandruff shampoo out there is made by Redken. They have a whole line of shampoo, conditioner, and treatments made just for dandruff. But I would make sure it is dandruff in the first place, and not dry skin. Dandruff shampoos are made to dry out the waxy stuff, and if you have only dry skin, you will make your condition worse. Hope this information helps! Good luck!
if you suffer from really bad dandruff that gives you an intensely itchy scalp then you are not alone there.

i have found the best thing is a shampoo called T-GEL. you can get it from most supermarkets. it is a bit pricey at about 拢5 a bottle but it does the job and it lasts ages because you don't have to use it everytime. i only use it when i get a bad outbreak of dandruff and it calms it down for a good few weeks.

    hope this helps
Herbal dandruff shampoo that contain ingredients such as tea tree oil work for mild cases, but if you have more severe dandruff on an ongoing basis you'll want to try a conventional anti-dandruff shampoo such as Head %26amp; Shoulders.
I find Head and Shoulders good.
Head and Shoulders is one of the best to use.
T-Gel by Neutrogena works best for me
I have suffered all my life and the only thing that worked was All Clear. Imagine my horror when it went out of production in 1995. I went round all the stores and bought about 130 bottles. I have two left. In the last year, I have been trying all different brands. The only one that works for me is Vaseline Anti Dandruff. It is sometimes called No More Dandruff. It really is a godsend. However, everyone is different and it may not be suitable for you. Good Luck.
    Try Vosene

Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?

The exciting discovery: six years of research by the scientists led to the revolutionary conclusion that the problems of balding are caused as the result of the formation of Sodium (salt) in the hair case which is located at the root of the hair including a fat gland, similar to a pump, whose function is to lubricate the scalp and to protect it against cold, penetration of bacteria, and dryness, as well as feed the root of the hair. The sodium a kind of Salt which is exuded to the scalp as a result of tension, faulty nutrition or hereditarily. When the pump in the fat gland works properly, the sodium is excreted in the form of dandruff. When the pump is failing no sodium is execrated and it settles in the case, and the hair falls out. This is the place to remark, that the case of the hair at the side of the head and the rear point downwards, and consequently there is a ';leakage'; of sodium outside the case, and that is the reason that there is no balding at the sides and the rear, while in the center and in the ';bay'; of the head the sodium blocks the case, and the case of the hair points upwards and causes the burning of the hair root and its falling out.

The revolutionary solution: Dead Sea Premier anti-hait loss shampoo, applying a formula of root acids consisting if Ginseng and minerals combined with a secret CRSFO which acts in a fourfold function: the first is the neutralization of the sodium to the base, the second is the activation of the pump of the oil gland, the third is the feeding of the hair root with oxygen carotene and pigments, the fourth is the exploitation of the hygroscopic property of the hair root and the infusion of the elements of which the hair composes; carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and sulfur, into the cells of the matrix.

    So simply yes it does!!

It's scientificly proven!Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?
No. There is actually no such thing really. But it's normal to lose about a marble size amount of hair a day. Amazing, yes. Also, the hair loss may be due to constant hair dying or hair dye in general, brushing too hard, a certain product you use, maybe a shampoo and/or conditioner you use that is too strong for your hair.Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?
Nope it's just a con to get your money. My friend has been using them for ages and he looks no different. He's now gone and had some laser treatment on his hair. It's suppose to take 6-8 session and then it stimulates the hair to regrow. My A**E it does. He's had 7 session and he looks no different, his hair is thinning and he just has to get used to the idea.
I have a friend who says it works. I have had 2 doctors tell me that Rograine really works. The only bad thing is that you have to use it forever. If you stop, it will come out. I think it is expensive too. Try the shampoo and other products in the same line first.
I dont know if they really work. BUT i do know that a lot of the products to help hair grow back only PREVENT it from falling out. so try that :)
yeah. its says ANTI hair loss.

nioxin. you can get it at the haircuttery, it does a really nice job. no miracles right away, but over time hair gets thicker. Best anti hair loss shampoo?
I don't feel there is a shampoo for anti hair loss. You can try some ayurvedic hair oils for good effect. Reduce your stress levels by doing meditation like yoga. Eat lot of vegetables and fruits in diet. Also using hair oil is recomended to stop hair loss. Start meditating regularly for reducing the stress levels. Also exercise to keep the blood flow normal. Apart from this check if you have dandruff, as its the main cause of hairloss in many. I have read a related article somewhere on stophairlossquick.com and it did benefit me.

We have just gotten a Yorkie puppy, she's 9 wks old, can we use anti-flea shampoo on her or is she too young?

It's just bthat we saw some shampoos for fleas which said don't use on puppies under 12 wks old? A bit confusing, because if she has fleas what can we do with her?

We also bought those puppy training indoor pads, do we change those pads evert time she pee's and poo's.....actually we don't change it every time she pee's but we have been changing it every time she poo's....she poo's 4, 5 or 6 times a day! Plus the poo is soft, thought it should be solid....we fed her some dogfood in jelly stuff yesterday and today we are only feeding her dry puppy food......only dry stuff from now on. We also have those treat things for her and chewy dental sticks.

Thanks We have just gotten a Yorkie puppy, she's 9 wks old, can we use anti-flea shampoo on her or is she too young?
when my shih tzu was small I got a spray at Pet Smart for puppies under a year. Every 28/29 days I sprayed him with it and he was fine.

I think the shampoo will be too harsh since she is still so young and really shouldnt be bathed that often at this age

And you need to stop changing her food... its probably upsetting her stomach. And at this age the best food for her is small bite size kibble. the chewing on the Kibble will help develop her teeth.

My pup is also wee wee pad trained but i started walking him in the morning and evenings and noticed I dont have to change the wee wee pad but its there in the event that he needs it. Try doing that... wee wee pad training is fine but if you take the time to walk the dog its healthier and is actually less of a mess We have just gotten a Yorkie puppy, she's 9 wks old, can we use anti-flea shampoo on her or is she too young?
No flea shampoos under 12 weeks of age! However, Frontline Plus which is a topical flea ointment may be safely used on pups as young as 8 weeks old. It goes by weight, and works great!

She needs just dry food which is good for her teeth and will also help with the consistency of her stool.

As for chewy dental sticks, read the package. Some are not recommended for pups until they are 6 months old, such as Greenies.
Hey, i am sorry to break the news to ya but regular flea shampoos just give you shiny fleas, they do not work at all, get a flea treatment that is suitable from the vets and only wash her in gentle shampoos at such a young age, baby shampoo is what i use on puppies, until they are around 4 months old, good luck
    I used to breed Pomeranians. And when they were very young, I chose to use tearless baby shampoo on them, so as not to hurt their eyes. Another breeder said it's too harsh for their fur and I said ';If I can use that on my children and can darn sure use it one a dog!!!';

    It also killed the fleas.
this does'nt answer your question, but I tell new owners of yorkie pups that 90% of them have low blood sugar. They need to be given karo syrup once in the a.m and once in p.m.A small amount on your finger for them to lick will be enough.I've been told they outgrow this by 1 yr.old.Enjoy your yorkie, they are wonderful.
I would not use flea shampoo on one this young. Any shampoo actually kills the fleas if left on a minute anyway. There is lots of information here for you plus a grooming page. Go to the Yorkie Information page.
I can't use any flea shampoo's on my dogs because I'm allergic to it. I use Dawn dish soap (original)! Leave it on for a few minutes and it ';smothers'; the fleas! Very safe for your puppy, no medication, and it works for me! Good luck!
please dont use flea shampoo on a young puppy, try taking him to the vets, or you can even call the vets and ask them, please please dont use it, it could be harmful

Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?

I have badily damaged hair and breakage from a hairdresser ruining my hair with hair dye, and was wondering if using these products would help. If they are effective I don't mind paying out the money.Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?
Redkan CAT treatment is by far THE BEST HAIR PRODUCT I have EVER used!

My hair is badly damaged by over bleaching (Think Gwen Steffani) - Its THAT blonde and was in terrible condition, snapping, falling out and felt like cotton wool.

CAT restors the hair from the inside out - I bought one box of CAT first off and used it everytime I washed my hair. Now I just use it once a week and my hair is in FANTASTIC condition.Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?
I love this product I can't go back to regular brands anymore. Try their Redken Extreme anti-snap if you have alot of breakage and split ends. Its fantastic. The products have a lite green apple scent its great. just after using them once i saw a huge improvement. Report Abuse

YES REDKEN IS EXCELLENT IS VERY CONCERTRATED SO YOU WONT HAVE TO USE MUCH AND IT WOULD LAST YOU FOR QUITE A LONG TIME!!
I'm a swimmer, and chlorine was wreaking havoc on my hair. My stylist recommended Redken All-soft shampoo and conditioner, followed by Extreme Anti-Snap. When I blowdry, I work in some Redken Smoothdown serum--you can also use this as a gloss to finish.

I was suspicious, because I don't usually spend that much on my hair, but it's actually been worth it. I've noticed a big difference in how my hair looks and feels; it also gets greasy more slowly, so I can get away with washing it every other day.

So I'd highly recommend a product upgrade. Quick tip--if you get small bottles and like them, you can go to a beauty supply store and get bottles that are 4 times as big for twice the price, so that helps make it more affordable to use the products.
yes it is extremely good but very expensive if you don,t mind paying use it you will feel the different
I have used it, but my hair didn't feel any different. I had my hair bleached about a year ago, and it was really brittle. My hair still breaks, but now I use Redkin Smooth (or something like that) and my hair feels soft and not nearly as distressed.

if u believe in homoeopathy then take medicine kali phos 6 x . 4 times a day for 1 month regularly and also massage on your scalp with any luke warm light oil (like olive oil) gently twice a week. and then tell me your results . or consult any skin specialist doctor
go for the hot oil therapy. take lemon juice (1 lemon) %26amp; warm coconut oil (according the length of ur hair), mix properly %26amp; apply on ur scalp, wrap hair with hot towel. rinse hair with shampoo after 3 hrs. if this process fails, go to the doctor.
ok what you can do and I guess your white by your picture but try black girl prouducts they tend to work for you guys like try a weightless oil sheen and what this is is a light oil mist but if you get a weightless it isn't going to weight your hair down and make it look greesy but it will provide your hair with some type of oil to keep it from being so dry but we have a number of hair products that add oil but don't weigh your hair down so just go down the black girl isle and see what you find but go towards oil sheens and light ones at that and try some leave in conditioners try to put it on your scalp and not just your hair your hair will be fine it is your scalp that needs moisture ``good luck
Urine. It has to be your own and morning urine is the strongest.
it means ur scalp is dry use conditioner and massage into scalpand enjoy the warm water hitting your nice spots...call me
You should see a dermatologist. They can prescribe something.
You could go to a dermatologist.
Neutralgena Tgel shampoo works well.If you go the baby oil route to get the oil out in the morning after a good combing used baby powder all over your hair this absorbs the oil and lets it wash right out ,if no powder you will need to wash it several times and that drys your scalp out which causes dandruff.
If u r having dry hair Lemon juice is very helpful. try this once or twise a week and then use mild shampoo. Home made card is also good.
    1. U can use a good curd which is much soar. apply on the scalp of ur hair. leave it for 2-3 hrs and rinse it off.

    2. U can also use lemon and follow the same procedure. u find little irritation but don't worry its for few min.
    applying curd may be helpful

have you tried Nizral...it works wonders with dandruff. Natural ways would be regular oiling and applying lime before washing the oil off...see if that helps...all the best!
I've asked a few people and Neutrogena T-gel or JASON庐 Dandruff Relief鈩?Shampoo

(you can get that online at GNC)is what works best for them.

If you've tried that then I highly reccomend going to a doctor or dematologist. There are many great medicated prescription shampoos that can help.

What you have may be more than dandruff, which are tiny white flakes, if you have larger yellowish ones with a rash it may be seborrhea.

Anyone else with a bad dye job out there? Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo helps to strip the dye out?

Ok, so I hear one of the best ways to fix a bad dye job at home is to purchase Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo. You are supposed to wash your hair with it but leave it in overnight and rinse it out the next morning. They say you WILL notice a difference. Then you are supposed to follow with hot Olive Oil in your hair and let that sit for a couple of hours. Has anyone tried this and been successful? Was there a difference? Will it strip down to the natural hair colour even if you have a couple layers of colour? I have some Neutrogena 60 Second Hair Repair so it won't get too damaged! • GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?

I need to know cuz my hair is pretty frizzy and I want to have it like Zac Efron or Luis Fonsi.

But i dont have money for a straightener, plus I hear that a straightener damages hair and I cant afford that as I already have damaged frizzy hair.

Is it possible that i can get that kind of hairstyle without using a straightener and by just blow drying and using the frizzologie treatments of infusium 23 steps 1-3

HELP PLEASE! it would be much appreciated and would make my day thanks =)GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?
Yes, it's possible but it is also very difficult to tame hair a certain way with products. Having a styling tool (like a straightener) is much easier.

There are many cheap straighteners that do the job. Go to Walmart or Big Lots and you can find Conair ones for about 20 bucks. They work pretty well. Also, straighteners do damage hair but there are heat protection sprays. When you use them, your hair is ';protected'; and doesn't get damaged much. You can buy that at Walmart as well. The Treseme Heat Tamer Spray is 6 bucks and works great. Just spray it in real quick before you straighten your hair; there is nothing to it.

I really think you should just get a cheap straightener, heat protection spray and a anti-frizz serum(Try the John Frieda Frizz-ease Original Formula hair serum. It is at Walmart and Walgreens for about 5 bucks). In the long run I think it would be cheaper. The spray and serum last a long time. And the straightener of course.

With whatever you decide, I wish you luck :)GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?
Dye hair brown with golden highlights

Get a razored hair cut with many layers. Have your bangs eyebrow lengthish and to your left.

Apply heat protecting gel and straighten (straightening is an option if you have wavy hair.).

Apply gel to style and hold your hair.
First note that anti-frizz products alone just wont do it, to stop frizz you need to start in the shower

You need to use a natural shampoo that does not dry out your hair. You see shampoos contain SLS which dry up your hair, the result is frizz!

Some conditioners are good and have special silicones and conditioners which tend to tame and put down your hair cuticle-thereby stopping the frizz.

The very best way however is to use powerful hair oil like Mira hair oil

It is a herbal hair oil treatment that conditions you hair and keeps it healthy and nourished

Use it two times a week. Doing this will stop the drying out process that causes hair frizz to begin with

If hair shedding is natural then, anti hair fall shampoos work and stop the shedding?

If hair shedding is natural then, anti hair fall shampoos work and stop the shedding? If hair shedding is natural then, anti hair fall shampoos work and stop the shedding?
Everyone loses a certain amount of hair each day. There is nothing you can do to stop it. Using products that reduce the natural hair loss is a waste of money. Using products to strengthen the hair is better. You will still see hair loss, but by strenghtening the hair follicle and protecting the hair shaft you will stop losing hair that has weakened. If hair shedding is natural then, anti hair fall shampoos work and stop the shedding?
Good question, I guess. What they aim for though it, for people with thinning hair, it helps to prolong the thickness of their hair. There isn no product out there that will help with the regrowth of hair, but ones such as these, that will help to prevent it from thinning more.
Its their bussiness and salesmanship.if they r capable than they find milions of fools to buy it.

My hair is falling out alot especially when i wash my hair. are there any anti-fall shampoos and conditioners?

i was thinking of using sunsilk's anti-caida(anti-fall) but if there are any better products for my problem, please help me.My hair is falling out alot especially when i wash my hair. are there any anti-fall shampoos and conditioners?
    Try a thickening shampoo/conditioner like Pantene's version.

Brush your hair before you shower.

Never brush your hair wet, only gently finger-comb.

My hair's been falling out like crazy since the birth of my son. It's hormones.

Are you a new mom or maybe you're a little younger and just got your monthly visitor?

If it started all of a sudden, with no reason, you should see your doctor. There could be an underlying cause! My hair is falling out alot especially when i wash my hair. are there any anti-fall shampoos and conditioners?
What kind of Shampoo are u using? If it's pantine it made my hair fall out!!
To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

  • Is ANTI-SHEDDING shampoo safe?

i have a Bernese/lab x. he's 12 yrs. he has a very thick (not long) coat and once a yr i take him to a groomer for a THOROUGH clean-up.

we moved here to HOT Tennessee a yr ago from mostly FRIGID NH. the groomer i'm taking him to on Friday wants to use an anti-shedding shampoo.

with this heat, isn't it better that he be able to shed?

i use a FURMINATOR on him everyday and he's in the house for the AC (we keep it at 69 during the day for him).

since he's a ';snow dog'; type, i'm wondering how much risk he'll be at for over-heating?Is ANTI-SHEDDING shampoo safe?
In all my years with my Golden's one thing I have learned is that there is no such thing as anti shedding shampoo!

Any good shampoo will get not only the dirt but any loose fur out. I'd be concerned about over heating a older dog also. Their tolerance is lower for heat and they can over heat much quicker than a much younger dog.

All your old boy need is a good washing and a really good brushing and blowing out!

Anti shedding shampoo! Pfft! I'd rather see him get a good moisturising Oatmeal bath to help is ageing skin!

Awww! Poor old boy! Give him a big ol'Bear hug for me ok!

Wow he looks very good! He is a big Ol'Bear though! lolIs ANTI-SHEDDING shampoo safe?
they make an anti shedding shampoo? i didn't know that. i have 3 short haired dogs and a cat which is different but i use a shedding blade on them one a week and get all the dead, loose stuff off. they love it.
You know, I asked this very question to a groomer a couple of weeks ago. I was in Petco and looking for some shampoo or something that may keep Belle from shedding so very much. She told me that there was one out there (I THINK it was Simple Solution but don't quote me on it) that, used over a period of time, helps a little, but that brushes are your best bet by far! I use the FURMINATOR as well, and I also use something called the Zoom Groom. Kong makes them and it's FABULOUS for getting the top coat off that the Furminator usually doesn't grab. They cost about $8...might want to invest in that as well. :-)

Poor guy...thinkin' about y'all in this hot heat! Good luck!

Nizoral (Anti Fungal Shampoo) while breastfeeding?

I have never had dandruff until a couple of months after having baby girl. Since I haven't been able to get rid of it. I'm thinking it may be fungal/over growth of yeast. Have you heard of or are you someone who has used this while breastfeeding? It says ask a doctor. I looked it up on kellymom.com and it safe ';approved'; for lactation/pregnancy and a category of L2 for lactation which is titled as ';safer'; and said little to no affects of nursling. So I really need to try this out to see if it helps my poor head but am nervous just because I'm a mom and want to hear from other women. Nizoral (Anti Fungal Shampoo) while breastfeeding?
when i was preg my dr said it was ok to use as long as u didnt use it daily or let it set on your head wash an rinse but if u read bottle it says to leave on so many minutes but i would contact your dr just to be safe gl i have had trouble w/mt scalp ever since i had my son in 95 i had a lil girl in 03 an its still same red sores flaking an itchy

Best anti-humidity shampoo and conditioner? I have very very curly hair and I straighten it?

It would be easiest to get a drugstore brand, but I am open to other

things. Also, I have Aussi anti-humidity hairspray but havent tried it

yet. befor straightening my hair I have to use either 1/4 a cup of olive

of got2B defiant pomade before straightening to make it straight. NO

OTHER PRODUCTS, salon or drugstore, will make my hair straight,

NO smoothing milks or serums, just those. That's not the question, its

just informational. Anyways, what is the best anti-humidity shampoo,

conditioner. Also, I have heard good things about Garnier Fructis sleek

and shine, does it still work if you are straightening it? Please also

describe your hair type when you suggest products. Thanks! ^.^ :)

Best anti-humidity shampoo and conditioner? I have very very curly hair and I straighten it?
Well my hair is wave, fine, and lots of it, but my mum's is very curly. She uses (and so do I sometimes because its gorgeous) John Frieda Frizz-Ease, the whole range is magnificent for anti-humidity. Particularly the serum for curly hair, tames with the tiniest drop of it. You can use it to make your curls look better and also make you hair smooth when its straightened.

You always need to do an intensive moisturizing treatment at least once a week, and whenever you straighten it use a heat defence spray. I use a brand called Lee Stafford, but thats in England (I'm assuming you're in the US?)

You could also try blow-drying your hair straight before running the straighteners over it. This helps keep your hair straighter for longer and makes it softer too!Best anti-humidity shampoo and conditioner? I have very very curly hair and I straighten it?
You can try serums, pommades, or hair sprays to help fight the humidity. But, if you are outside for a long time, it won't help that much.

    Best anti-poof shampoo?

i have hair that is pretty frizzy, more poofy that frizzy actually, and when it dries and i put it in a ponytail the ends look fried (kinda wispy and thin and dry also) ! i DO NOT use heat on my hair at all, no irons, no blow driers, nothing. so what is the best shampoo/conditioner/creme/serum have you ever tried if you have hair like mine, i really like using the combo of products like i mentioned above. please don't suggest sunsilk or any regular cheap shampoo, like pantene, head %26amp; shoulders, etc. thanks!Best anti-poof shampoo?
matrix i think its hydra therapie or something like thatBest anti-poof shampoo?
Try the Satinique brand... My hair is the same way and I love this stuff, it makes my hair smooth and silky! No more frizz! I get the satinique products from this site... http://smccarthy1.qbeautyzone.com/ good luck!
Try Garnier Fructis in the green bottle or Aussie in the purple. They both work great!

Best anti breakage shampoo conditioner? i have very damaged hair?

I have very long hair that is very weak and breaks a lot. I dye it every so often and use a straightener every day. when i wake up int he morning, it's always really nappy feeling and moldable. I do not use hair product. I am italian and the hair has a tendancy to be really wavy when i dont want it to be. whats the best thing for hair like this? i have heard garnier, but i just want to make sure that's a good one. Any suggestions? Thanks a million!Best anti breakage shampoo conditioner? i have very damaged hair?
Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest pantene because you can customize your collection, even down to your problems with your hair, and it will begin to improve even after 2 weeks.Best anti breakage shampoo conditioner? i have very damaged hair?
tresemme anti breakage conditioner with b5 and gelatin works wonders on my hair. i dont use shampoo as it dries my hair out too much. but if you really want to stop the breakage you have to reduce the amount of heat you put on your hair.
Redken Anti Snap is the very best. And it smells awesome!!!!!
The redken products are fahhbulous! there's one for distressed hair. it works absolute wonders!!! i cant remember the name but my mom used to use it and her hair is frizzy/poofy/fried/split ends. and it made her hair look awesome!!! i have also used jonathan products. you can buy them at sephora. they are great to freshen up hair and make it more manageable!!!

    hope i could help!!

    %26lt;3 PiNk
First off it sounds like you need to start doing deep conditioning treatments, and PLEASE start using product in your hair. Start using a serum and heat glide... Try Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide.. its not cheap but its the best and lasts quite a while. Go to a Beauty supply store and buy some deep conditioning packets and use about once or twice a week. Get the conditioner with protein and vitamins in it to strenghthen it.

Does anti-dandruff shampoo cause hair fall?

recently, i have switched to using anti-dandruff shampoo due to an oily scalp. However,i noticed that my i experience more hair fall after the switch(especially during washing) Is the shampoo the cause of this problem? How many strands of hair does a normal person shed per day?Does anti-dandruff shampoo cause hair fall?
that happened to me too, I switched to selson blue medicated and it works great.Does anti-dandruff shampoo cause hair fall?
A person can lose an average of 100 hairs per day. Anti dandruff shampoo can become drying to your hair, but it won't fall out. Perhaps one with a good conditioner. I love Head and Shoulders. It's expensive, but very good and always leaves my hair silky.
dandruff shampoo can strip away the natural oils in the hair %26amp; overdry it causing hair to fall out.

people usually lose 30-40 strands of hair a day
    i've never heard of that.but i wouldn't notice i have a ';sheding'; problem n e way.lol
normal hair loss a day is 100 strands you could be washing too much should be everyother day or even less
Anti dandruff shampoo only deepens the sense of need.

Eating a balanced diet covers everything including the root of the problem, excuse the pun.

Unhealthy skin is just a symptom of an unbalanced lifestyle and can't be solved by shedding your cash into some chemists bank. Infact I'd go further and say that these shampoos actually prolong the need to use them in the first place. Don't let your skull become a playground for somebodies marketing plan.

  • Do anti hair loss shampoo change hair color to white? 10 points!?

Iam 21 and have been using revita shampoo and now I have 2 white hair....do you think it's because of the shampoo?Do anti hair loss shampoo change hair color to white? 10 points!?

Do anti hair loss shampoo thicken thin hairs?

Not one of them really thicken the hairs. A great treatment for doing that is this quick acting one using only safe, natural products. Massage thoroughly with olive or any natural oil - then brush vigorously with a brush with stiff short bristles so you really feel it stimulating scalp (60/70 strokes each day ). Brushing before you apply oil is equally OK. It is even better if you sleep with hair oiled. Will also heal scalp and and unplug any blocked hair ducts - they are the painful small itching spots. A little shedding and breakage may occur at first but quickly stops as brushing makes hair stronger and better anchored. It will grow fast, thicker be shinier and healthy looking. Start to see in about 5 days. Be careful what you put on hair. Thinning, loss, dandruff, premature graying can be caused by many shampoos, hair products that contain harsh and toxic ingredients and washing hair too frequently - removes beneficial natural oils, harms scalp %26amp; contributes to loss. Find ';Non harmful shampoos, etc'; with Google searches. Some will be expensive or only available on-line so refine search by adding ';low cost'; and ';available in stores'; Available in health food stores, drugstores and stores like Walmart. I can be emailed.

    Anti-Dandruff shampoo?

Hi, I have dandruff but it's NOT dry scalp dandruff. I have oily skin and unfortunately I have overactive (for lack of a better word) oil glands in my head that causes my hair to flake. It's only in the front of my head too, it's not in the back. My head DOES NOT itch and the flakes don't fall out easily, I have to ';knock'; them out; I guess b/c it's oily. Anyway what I want to know is what would be the best type of Head and Shoulders shampoo for me to use? Thanx in advance!Anti-Dandruff shampoo?
You can try this for oily scalp. Juice of 1 lime mixed in a mug of water for the last rinse, while washing the hair, is an useful remedy. This removes the stickiness and prevents dandruff. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/Anti-Dandruff shampoo?

    Anti Poof Shampoo For Guys?

I have pretty thick hair and I like it when it's longer. The only problem is that if I don't wear a hat, it looks really poofy. What I usually do is wear a bandanna and a base ball hat, and after wearing that for awhile, my hair stays down and looks almost neat. When I get out of the shower and my hair is damp, it also stays down and looks nice. So is there any way to get my hair to stay down without it being wet or me wearing a hat? THANKS!Anti-Frizz Shampoo vs. Moisturizing Shampoo 10 POINTS WILL BE REWARDED!!!?
i have tried all the herbal essences products. they all smelled good but did not help with what they were supposed to. absolutely don't use pantene. it has tons of wax in it and it will make your hair feel soft and shiny but it is really bad for it and your hair will start falling out. i would recomend a brand called organix. it's about the same price as herbal essences but it's extremely good for hair. it moisturizes my curly frizzy hair into pretty soft curls. it is a mirace product. i have used the coconut one and it has seemed to work best for my type of hair but all of them are fantastic. you can find it at most stores but i know for sure it's at walgreens

    Hope i helped

now choose me for best answer please:) lolAnti-Frizz Shampoo vs. Moisturizing Shampoo 10 POINTS WILL BE REWARDED!!!?
Either shampoo will probably work, but conditioner is important, too. I have the best luck controlling my frizz with other product: anti-frizz sprays or gels or even Johnson %26amp; Johnson's No More Tears detangler.

She should also not wash her hair every day. Every other or every third day is plenty, especially if her hair tends to be dry.

Frizz and dry hair do not necessarily go together. My frizz is as affected by the weather as anything else.
I recommend hydrating shampoo and then using something like Sunsilk's De-Frizz styling gel, after her shower. This will probably work the best for her hair type.
Pantene for curly hair: I use Hydrating Curls

moisturizes curly and wavy hair to tame frizz

    Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Not Working!?

I have used both head and sholders anti-dandruff shampoo and elvive intensive anti-dandruff shampoo and neither have been very successful, they stop dandruff for around 1 day but on the second day the dandruff has returned, I don't really have time to have a shower every day so is there a way to resolve this?Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Not Working!?
The thing with dandruff is that there isn't just one solution to everyone. You have observe when you get flare-ups the most, is it during cold wheather? Is it when you wash your hair everyday or is it when you don't wash your hair? You need to do trial and error. Personally, I don't like using head and shoulders every time I wash. The best solution for me (after years of trying) is to ALTERNATE your shampoos. I alternate head and shoulders and Clear antidandruff. I also find Nizoral is the BEST medicated shampoo, but use just once or 2x a week as it can cause hair to fall out. Nizoral is really good if you've got the worst flare-ups (u know, those days when you think the scaling and flaking seems impossible to fix).

In my case, not washing everyday worsens the dandruff, but see for yourself in your case Treat your scalp like it has a mind of its own and guess what it might not like. Also, stress can really play a part....You need to sleep at an earlier time and wake up early in the mornings after 7-8 hours of sleep. Dandruff and psoriasis are related, and psoriasis is actually the result of an immune system malfunction, which is WHY stress plays a huge role.

    Good luck.Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Not Working!?
First of all, uh I think it would be wise to try and find time to take a shower every day. Everyone's busy, but hey, we all need showers. That might help get rid of the dandruff problem.

That said, maybe it's not really dandruff, but just dry scalp. The ingredient in dandruff shampoo (pyrithione zinc or salisylic acid) could be causing an already dry scalp to get worse. If that's the case, use a good moisturizing conditioner (and yes, make time for that). Good rule of thumb: If it's large scaly, greasy or yellowish-tinged flakes, probably dandruff. If it's small bits of ';snowy'; white flakes, possibly dry scalp.
you could try Sulfur 8 anti-dandriff shampoo, and the hair dressing works well, you could put the hair dressing on overnight and wash it out in the morning, hope that helps
Try Selsum Blue shampoo anti itch and dandruff control.

    Good anti-frizz shampoo?

my hair was naturally thick and healthy, but in the past year, i had dyed it blonde, it was belched and dyed. After a while i missed my old hair color and dyed it back, but it's been damaged. it's condition is improving, but i have some problems with frizz unless i put product in it, which i don't want to do all the time. does anyone know a really good shampoo and conditioner that will reduce frizz and help improve my hair to the way it used to be?

(something that's not super expensive preferably)

    thanksGood anti-frizz shampoo?
OK NO MORE DYING FOR YOU! Very unhealthy! Ok... so don't flat iron and curl it alot, the good thing is it's summer so you don't have to worry about impressing people as much. Keep conditioner in your hair for 30 min. message it and rinse through, then use John Frieda his products work good! Umm... Dove is supposed to be for dry hair, really most things work good just not super cheap stuff like v02 I herd it drys out your hair. Sorry.. hope i helped! Good luck!Good anti-frizz shampoo?
idk shampoo and conditioner, but try (only if u currently blow dry) blow drying it with salt water mix misted into it before

Is anti-dandruff shampoo of the Devil?

We are all supposedly made in God's image, and therefore even dead scalp cells reflect the glory of God. Isn't attempting to hide or remove them with anti-dandruff shampoo akin to banning prayer in schools, or other Satanic attempts to get rid of God?Is anti-dandruff shampoo of the Devil?
This is a common mistranslation of the word ';Head %26amp; Shoulders';.. it was never meant to be a dandruff shampoo.

Those anti-dandruff mongers took the shampoo and used it for their own purposes.. with their kill dandruff or be flaky mantra, they have pushed their agenda on the world. Is anti-dandruff shampoo of the Devil?
Dandruff is the devil on your shoulder.

Use God's sudsy goodness to cleanse you of your sins.
Is using facial cleanser to prevent acne or using deoderant to prevent body odor a sin? I don't think so.
    huh
Letting your head dry out is something you did...
I guess if you like dandruff you can keep it

I hate those little white flakes on my shoulder and if I see one i shampoo right away
I used dish soap on my dreads when I had those, and I became so unholy that my hair got moldy, so I cut them off! Is dish soap evil too?
Shampoo is acceptable if God made it.
No, it's called having a dry scalp. Quit trying to read too much into it and go get some Head %26amp; Shoulders already.

I find that controls it without my hair feeling gooey or sticky.

  • ANTI-BALDING SHAMPOO for men?

Most shampoos don`t do what they say but you can try

Firstly consult your doctor or hair clinic.

He will inform you of the actual cause of your baldness and advice you accordingly.

In medical terms hair loss is known as Alopecia. The most common type of Alopecia is Pattern baldness or Androgenetic alopecia and is permanent. Alopecia areata is another type of alopecia, which involves hair loss on the scalp and other body parts.

鈥?Androgenetic Alopecia: Effecting men, this type of baldness, or hair loss starts at the temples and crown resulting in partial or complete baldness. In women with androgenetic alopecia they have hair loss that is characterized by thinning of the hair at the front, sides or crown. Complete baldness is a rare occurrence in women.

鈥?Alopecia Areata: Alopecia areata, is characterized by baldness that occurs in small patches. A person may lose only scalp hair,

    ANTI-BALDING SHAMPOO

Male hair loss is caused by a chemical called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). A naturally occurring enzyme in your body called 5 alpha-reductase transforms the male hormone testosterone into DHT. DHT is the main cause of thinning hair and receding hairline in men.

Certain herbs and minerals, in the proper mixture, can bind with 5 alpha-reductase and block DHT formation. Supplements with the correct ingredients can halt the effects of DHT, and even assist in the regrowth of hair, particularly in men ages 18-40.

Many of the supplements on the market today lack some of these essential active ingredients to help stop hair loss and promote regrowth. Others require a prescription, or have potentially serious side effects.

It is important to find a product that is designed specifically for men (hair loss in women is caused by different factors). You should also look for a guarantee from the manufacturer ensuring your satisfaction with their product.';ANTI-BALDING SHAMPOO for men?

Anti dandruff shampoo & hair dye?

my hairs dyed black at the moment ( by accident ) few people on my previous question have said it will help fade the black if i was to use this everyday how long do you think it'll take to fade the black the colour i have in my hair is perminant dyeAnti dandruff shampoo %26amp; hair dye?
Anti dandruff shampoo like head and shoulders does tend to strip dye from the hair. My youngest daughter tried for months to dye her hair from light brown to chestnut and within weeks the colour had disappeared, she then found out it was because she was using head and shoulders. She stopped using it and the colour stayed in.

After saying that, my eldest daughter dyed her hair black, and then wanted it brown, but black is a different kettle of fish, she had to go to the hair dressers regularly and have highlights stripped and dyed brown, this eventually covered the black, but 3 hairdressers told her it couldn't be done all in one go, it had to be done gradual if she didn't want her hair to fall out.Anti dandruff shampoo %26amp; hair dye?
Permanent dye will fade slightly but you will never get back to your original colour without getting it redyed (at the hairdresser) because permanent colour penetrates right into the hair shaft.

Black dye is a nightmare to shift - don't even try lightening it at home - get the advice of a good colourist (at a good salon - not your local one - they don't have enough knowledge). Salons like Toni %26amp; Guy aren't cheap but they have specialists who just do colouring.
If you used a permanent black dye, then no, your hair will stay black, but maybe become a softer black. You should try an ammonia free color remover, it only alters dyed hair, not natural hair. Sally Beauty sells a great one, from Salon Care. If you have a much lighter color underneath, then your hair will end up close to the color. After that, I recommend you pick one level lighter of hair color than what you are aiming for, and remember, never use a box dye!
In my experience, I've used prell shampoo (it's in a green bottle) you can buy it from the drug store and wash your hair with it 6-7 times and it will lighten up some of the color

Remember to follow with a really nice reconstructing conditioner. I like biolage ultra hydrating conditioner
Black is cool. Keep it. If you don't like it, you should just dye it back.
I dont think that will help anything. sorry get it colored back
that wont help it. what you do is take REALLLLLLY HOT showers and the color will fade out [does to my sister]

    Anti-dandruff shampoo?

I've had dandruff for a long time and it didn't really bother me too much until I started wearing darker colors, since it shows up more.

I tried Head and Shoulders for a few days and I broke out in hives each day, making me think that I'm allergic.

Any anti-dandruff shampoos besides Head and Shoulders that you would recommend?Anti-dandruff shampoo?
Below is a list of various active ingredients in anti danruff shampoos

    selenium sulfide (selsun blue)

    pyrithione zinc (head and sholulders)

    Coal tar solutions (tegrin

    Salicylic Acid (neutrogena tgel)

I have found the most success with selsun blue and other selenium sulfide shampoos, but every person is different, so i would say you best bet is to try them out. Dermatologists can also sell you special shampoo for dandruff.Anti-dandruff shampoo?
Which head and shoulders did you use? There are two common active ingredients used for anti-dandruff shampoos:

    selenium sulfide

    pyrithione zinc

All anti-dandruff shampoos are going to have one of these two ingredients in it. Check the one you have been using and see which one it uses.

Unless you were using H%26amp;S Intense Solutions, it was likely Pyrithione Zinc. Look at the anti-dandruff shampoos in the store and find one that has the other ingredient in it. The only two I know of off hand that have Selenium Sulfide in it are the H%26amp;S Intense Solutions and Selsun Blue, they both work wonders.

If switching to the other active ingredient does not help, then you are likely allergic to another ingredient in them that will likely be common in ALL of them.

If the other ingredient breaks you out, try washing your hair with white vinegar before using your normal shampoo. It stinks, but it really does help with dandruff. If this doesn't work, then you will have to see a dermatologist.

I really hope this helps you. Good luck.
i suffer from DANDRUFF too but i know how to cure it i was prescribed 2 shampoos by my doctor one is called T-Gel and the other one is supposedly better and is called Capasal i have been using it for a short while and has shown many positive outcomes my hair is nearly dandruff free thanks to Capasal
i normally do use head and shoulders but as you said you seem to be allergic, theres another brand selsun blue but i dont think it works very well...if you go to the dermatologist they can prescribe a type that will mosst likely work better then any type of over the counter brands
Go to your vitamins section and get Cod-liver capsules and pop one a day and watch the flakes go away
Idk , but try asking a hair stylist, or some hair cut people locally, they shall know some good ones!
    selsun blue usually works
Use head and shoulders, it works good for me.

    THANKU!!Does 'L'oreal Elvive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Shampoo' really works!?

polytar shampoo is the best remedy
Depends on your hair type. There is some for dry, some for greasy and some for normal (What ever that is).

Pick one that suits your hair type and one that is for regular use e.g every morning when you shower
    anything with selinium
Head and shoulders made my friend's hair fall out.....and no I am not joking.

Try Nizoral or T Gel - if these don't work see your gp.
Most dandruff is seborrhoeic dermatitis. Selsun or Nizoral are the best to use with baby shampoo in between
    T gel
Selenium Sulphide is the best. Available as Selsun. Use with care as it will discolour gold jewellery.
I agree Nizoral is probably the best, it does tend to dry the hair a bit, so you may need to use a moisturising shampoo in between.
yes Head an shoulders terrible! use pantene the anti dandruff one it's much better! when i used head and shoulder it didn't get rid of the dandruff!
why don't u try before that { olive oil } at night and wash ur hair in the morning with warm water and medicated soap u will not need to use head and shoulders because sometimes it's worsen by the shampoo.

  • Anti-shed shampoo-ey stuff.....?

Does that stuff they have at the store that stops your gog from shedding work? Also, does it hurt their skin or anything? Does anyone know anything about this stuff?Anti-shed shampoo-ey stuff.....?
It helps, but also buy a sheding comb.Anti-shed shampoo-ey stuff.....?
There are 2 decent products for this. One is called LoShed and the other is the new product called the FurMinator.

The LoShed is a combination of a spray and a shampoo that supposedly reduces shedding.

The Furminator is a shampoo and a comb that does the same.

Essentially, a good brushing on a regular basis can help reduce shedding. But in one of the dog publications, they tested the Furminator and said that it did indeed reduce shedding compared to other products IF USED ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS!

I have short coated dogs, so this isn't much of a problem. Just stating what I have read recently on the subject.
The only thing I've ever found that works is lots of brushing. I have my doubts.
they have a shampoo called shed control, furminator makes it it works very well but not as well as daily brushing
ask people (like the people in the store) and read the label...

Not enough tar in it, Selsum has a good brand out, I use a moisturizer that helps also, you have to keep the scalp moist.
Do not use your nails when washing your hair, only with a tip of your fingers.first days wash with antibacterial soap, like dial.
mayb ur not using a good brand

    here r some anti-dandruff shampoos i suggest u 2 use;

    1.head and shoulders

2clairol's Herbal Essences with camellia hot oil

    3 Boots anti-dandruff shampoo

    try these!
Once you have this problem, you'll have to persevere until you find the right shampoo to eliminate dandruff. My husband, is also suffering from this n he has been trying shampoo after shampoo, even pays expensive ones but once in a while the problem solve n again it always start.
I would try T Gel. It may be a form of psoriaosis which will need a therapeutic treatment. Give it a go, cos it will get rid of dandruff as well. They also make a T Gel conditioner as well.
You need a shampoo that contains Zinc pyritheone or selenium sulfide because they are the most effective in getting rid of dandruff flakes. If over teh counter shampoos don't work, your doctor can prescribe a shampoo that is basically selsun blue but stronger (selsun blue has selenium sulfide, the prescription shampoo does too but it's a stronger version).

Some of the things that can cause dandruff are

    Hormone imbalance.

    Excessive perspiration

    Allergic reactions

    Excessive stress

    Poor hygene

    Poor nutritioin/health

    Lack of sleep

    Inherited genetic trait

Inadequete shampooing and rinsing of the hair.

    Tight fitting hats.

Excessive use of hair styling products (gel, mouse, hair dye, hair curler...)

    Cold weather

    Dry enviroment.

    Excessive Heat

Also, some severe cases of dandruff are caused by a disease called seborrhoeic eczema or seborrhoeic dermatitis. In that case, you need to see your doctor.

If you are looking for a natural, home remedy, you can try one of these.

The use of fenugreek seeds is one of the most important remedies in the treatment of dandruff.

A valuable prescription for removal of dandruff is the use of green gram powder. The hair should be washed twice a week with two tablespoons of this powder mixed with half a cup of curd.

Create a mixture of curd, lime juice, cider, vinegar, and amla juice and apply to hair.

Apply warmed coconut oil with the juice of two lemons, and leave in hair for two hours before shampooing out.

Exposure of the head to the rays of the sun is also useful measure in the treatment of dandruff.

Rinse the hair after soaking some neem leaves in water and then filtering.
Try another brand. Nizoral works well.
It does not work for you. Switch to a diff brand like Neutrogena T-gel, Clear or selsen Blue whatever. Do not quit till you find one that works
try using something with teatree oil in it. but you may have to go to a doctor and get a prescription! good luck!
A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

Now you can get it in great scents like lemon lime and ocean breeze, and it's a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. :D
Use NIZORAL from johnson and johnson, this is prescribed by doctors and after washing your hair with nizoral again wash it with your regular shampoo...
i mostly use head and shoulders anti hair fall Solution or avon solution the main reason can be the the atmosphere in which you live maybe contain many dirty particles such as dandruff which had affected your hair and to i suffered from this problem

  • Best anti-breakage shampoo & conditioner?

ok i straighten my hair ALOT and i dont want to get it perm straightened(too expesive because i have long hair) i need haircare that helps protect against split ends and damage...Best anti-breakage shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
try K-PAK by joico. it has protein in it and that is what your hair is made out of. this will make your hair stronger. i dont know if you are using a protecting product in your hair when you use a straightener but that will cause alot of split ends and breakage if you are not using one. for that i suggest shine spray but pureology or beyond shine by aqauge. you will have to get these at a salon but it is well worth it. getting regular haircuts is a must as wellBest anti-breakage shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
garnier fructise works the best for me, and i also have a lot of breakage in my hair caused by my straightener :)
Go to a Beauty Store near you and look for Hair Therapy Products. They have some stuffs professional use at the Salon!

    Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo?

I used it a while ago and it was great and i went to buy it from boots as my scalp was getting irritant again but they dont stock it anymore! Anyone know where i can buy it in the UK or a good alternative?Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo?

they're all anti-residue (think the 'residue' they're referring to is the silicone you get in most shampoos) and smell lovely and they're not too expensive.

there's lots of other lovely stuff on there too and they've got shops everywhere.

they really are very nice xxx

eta. Rehab is made with Lush鈥檚 revolutionary, organic enzymic base too but this time it鈥檚 different. Here we combine it with gently emollient jojoba oil, almond oil and olive oil which increase your hair鈥檚 strength, help to repair damage and make it shine as well as detoxifying and conditioning your scalp. Using Rehab gives it a whole new reason for being; it forgets its worries and comes out refreshed, shiny, bouncy and soft and smelling of reviving fruit and calming essential oils. Shake it then use it and no-one will ever know you used to be a hair abuser.

Nizoral is much better. You can buy it at Boots but it is very expensive. It is available on prescription. Have a chat to a pharmacist.

    Good luck

    Anti-Poof Shampoo advice?

I have fairly different hair. Its fairly long (past ears), ridiculously thick, and is more wavey than curley Everytime I shampoo my hair it gets really poofy and is comparable to an afro. Is there any shampoo products out there that wont cause my type of hair to poof out so much and stay flater to my head?Anti-Poof Shampoo advice?
it's the shampoo that's doing it. i have the same problem, i have super thick hair, that is wavy. If i stopped using shampoo i got hair that was more managable, and sleeker.

i only use shampoo once a week. the rest of the time i use a conditioner. It sounds crazy, but it's the heavy detergents that are doing the damage to your hair.

    Edit.

I've never tried to use the sunsilk products before. If i have to use shampoo. I try to use conditioner before shampoo. I'm consider giving up shampoo all together, and go with a clarifying solution to clean my scalp.

If you do try to use the sunsik product, let me know how it works. I'd be very interested!

I found alot of help at this website below

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/ Go to the men section of the forum.Anti-Poof Shampoo advice?
that sounds like all of my friends hair. im the only one with semi-straight/wavey hair. i straighten it but i use like creams and a special straightening shamppo. I use Head and Shoulders smooth and silky and it makes my hair super soft. it wont get poofy if you use like a light holding mousse, or a straightening cream even if you dont straighten your hair. i use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine, the entire line and my hair stays soft and straight all day. also use the shine spray to calm the pooyness and it also makes your hair soft,
sunsilk curl will make you hair look like nick jonas style

sunsilk straight will make it easier if you want to straighten it

sunsilk wave will make it look healthy (as all of them do)

sunsilk anti-poof makes hair less frizzy

i know i sound like an advertiser but sunsilk is the best shampoo and conditioner out there

    also use the styling prducts

there soo easy to use and keep your hair healthy all day long

    and its easy to style

after youve washed your hair put the mousse or gel whatever product you decide to use and rub it through your hair like shampoo

shake your hair and pst towards your skulp it is soo simple
you could get your hair thinned out, and your'll find you hair will be alot easier to style and manage. Your'll find you hair still might go a bit poofy but it wont be anywhere near as bad.

Sorry cant comment on the sunsilk have never used any of their products, but if others have found it works it would be worth a try
omg your hair sounds like mine. um im a girl btw....mine is chin length but FRIZZY (when its tame its ultra curly) ok back to the facts. #1 cut your hair....thats a major factor there. #2 use a calming shampoo like one for curly hair. that anti poof you are talking about sounds fine. #3 get silk anti frizz gel (it does not look like you have gel in your hair) thats all i can think of now. oh your hair sounds totally fab.
