Question about Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo.?

This shampoo contains Ketoconazole which can damage your liver and kidneys. My dandruff is bad, but I dont know if I should be using something so dangerous. What should I do and has anyone tried Nizoral? Also is it really THAT effective?Question about Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo.?
Have you tried using alternatives? There are some natural alternatives. My dematologist told me not to use head and shoulders because it can make a person loose hair. The active ingreadient is Zinc. There are some good sampoo alternatives that are natural. It all depends on how bad your hair is and what your doctor and you decide on.

I really like this series of natural shampoos they really soothe my salp

I do not think drugstore.com takes returns, but wild oats takes them with recipts check your store before purchaces. There is a store online for avalon organics you can check with them for other stores and see if they take returns.

I got this one at supercuts and it was really soothing

Supercuts does offer returns with recipt. Make sure that particular store does before you purchase.

Here is one that is natural from sephora. I have never tried it.

Sephora does have stores, so you can see if there is one in your community. They have a good return policy. Safe all recipts, mailing labels and packaging incase you need to return it.

If you do order it on line make sure to get 3 free samples, the free gift sachel, and use a promo code. There is a whole list of them in my answers and they are also all over the net. Also there is free shipping on a certain size order.

See if any of these natural approaches works. Hopefully it does. Proactive makes one, but it has the Zinc in it like the head and shoulder so it can cause hair loss also.

Hopefully one of these more natural things works for you. My hair itches so much. I understand. One other thing I was told was to keep conditioner off my scalp and rinse well. I now use just a detangler. I have long fine hair, so I really need something. I hope you find your way.

Also hopefully you are seeing a dermatologist for your dandruf and not just a primary care doc. If it persists make sure to see a specialist.

You take care I know how uncomfortable this is trust me.

Also talk to your doctor about the side effects you are reading about. They may be refering to when a person takes the medication interally. That is the tablet and not the shampoo. It might not be as bad as you think. But if you want to try natural approaches you can do that. You do not have to take medication you do not want to. Try talking to your doctor about all of this. You do have options. If you have tried all these natrual approaches it might just not be as bad for you to use this as you think.

Please read this precaution warning on ketoconazole the generic name for nizoral and disguss with your doc.

Notice how talks about hepatotoxicty (liver) happening and the tablets at the top of that. Then notice how it talks about plasma (blood) level of shampoo. Disguss this with your doctor. It looks like you have some choices and it might not be as bad as you think.Question about Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo.?
I have used it. It works pretty good. I don't think there is enough of Nizoral in it to hurt you. Plus, Once you use it a few times. You should only need to use it 2x per wk.
I used it (didn't get sick or anything), but I changed to a shampoo with pyrithicone zinc. It works just as well and it was cheaper. (I like Garnier, it smells better to me)
Yes it is pretty effective and I wouldn't worry about damage to your kidneys and liver from it because you aren't using it in large amounts on a daily basis.
I use it occasionally. It's pretty low concentration even with prescription. My liver is still fine :-). It works better then other stuff.
